NETWORKING IN THE ROCKIES
The 2002 Western
Robbery Conference was held May 29th to 31st, 2002, at the Great Divide Lodge
in Breckenridge, Colorado.
Over 130 investigators from 10 states and Australia attended the
conference.
The
registration fee of $140.00 included tuition, conference materials, a CARI
Directory (provided by Loomis, Fargo & Co.) and a certificate of completion. Door prizes,
donated by many retail businesses, were given away during breaks. Two handguns
(provided by Bantek West and CARI) were given away
on the last day of the conference.
CARI provided a continental breakfast
daily (provided by King Soopers and Safeway), lunch on Wednesday and Thursday
(provided by CARI), and a
dinner at the awards banquet on Wednesday evening (also provided by CARI).
A hospitality suite (sponsored
by Budweiser, 7-11 and ICI Security Systems) was open to attendees each evening
and provided not only a place to relax after the days activities, but an
opportunity to network with robbery investigators and loss prevention personnel
from around the country.
