Dan Jones

SSA
Jones graduated from Kansas State University in 1985 with a degree in
Accounting and worked with the Olathe, Kansas, Police Department until his
appointment to the FBI in 1991. SSA Jones was assigned to the Billings
Montana Resident Agency working Indian Country and Violent Crime/Reactive
matters.
In 1999 SSA Jones was assigned to the Domestic Terrorism Unit and in
2001 he was transferred to the Omaha Division as the Violent Crime squad
supervisor. SSA Jones discussed the 2002 Norfolk, Nebraska, bank robbery
during which four persons were shot to death and the subsequent tracking and
arrest of the suspects.

Lieutenant Barry DeJong

Lieutenant
DeJong is a Bellevue University, Bellevue, NE. graduate with a degree in
Criminal Justice Administration. Prior to his police career, he worked at
the Nebraska State Penitentiary and a Juvenile Detention Center. In 1984 Lt.
DeJong began his career with the Omaha Police Department.
His most recent assignment was supervisor of the Robbery Unit for 4
years and he has held positions in Narcotics, SWAT, Weed and Seed and
Uniform Patrol. Lieutenant DeJong discussed a 2000 pattern robbery case
during which the pursued suspects carjacked a farm family and shot the
husband and wife.

Lieutenant Jim Shethar
Cortez Police Department

Lt.
Shethar worked as a wilderness school teacher before joining the Cortez
Police Department in 1973. He worked as a sergeant for many years before
being promoted to lieutenant in 1998. Lt. Shethar discussed the 1998
murder of Cortez Officer Dale Claxton by individuals who were on their way
to commit a casino robbery and the subsequent investigation and manhunt in
the Four Corners area.

Mark
C. Pautler is currently a Chief Deputy District Attorney for the First Judicial
District of Colorado.
He has been with this office since 1984 and has been a Chief Deputy since
1987.
He is currently serving as the supervisor of the Intake Unit, the
Domestic Violence Unit, the Economic Crime Unit and is the legal advisor for the
West Metro Drug Task Force.
He was the lead prosecutor for the Columbine Task Force dealing with the
Columbine High School shootings in April, 1999. Mr. Pautler talked about his
involvement in the capture of Cody Neal, a true triple axe murderer, and the
legal fallout that followed. Mr. Pautler also gave state and federal legal
updates.

Special Agent Jonathan
Grusing

Agent Grusing has been with the FBI since
1996 and is currently assigned to the Denver office as the bank robbery
and defense tactics coordinator. As the major theft coordinator Agent
Grusing led the robbery and theft investigations of the SATG and continues
to spearhead that endeavor. Grusing has also worked international
terrorism. He received his MBA from Texas Tech University.

Detective Mark Woodward

Mark
has been a Denver police officer for 28 years. He worked patrol for 12
years and has spent the last 16 years in the Criminal Investigation
Division, 14 in the robbery unit. Mark has been associated with CARI
throughout his tenure in the robbery unit.
Jon and Mark teamed up for a special presentation on the inherent
problems of dealing with SATG traveling jewelry salesman robberies,
updates on current investigations and task force and networking
information.
